Public Safety Reports 11/22-11/27

Larceny, Theft
A backpack was reported stolen from the H2O room in the Hobson Union. 

Property, Found
A key was turned into the Public Safety office.

Maintenance was notified about a faulty door in the Rec. Center.

Tampering, Motor Vehicle
Public Safety and Bemidji Police responded to a report of a vehicle that had been tampered with in what appeared to be an attempt to steal the car radio. No items were reported stolen.

Welfare Check
Public Safety performed a welfare check in Linden Hall. The party in question was located and safe.


Fire, Arson
Public Safety along with Bemidji Fire responded to a fire alarm on the third floor of Tamarack Hall. Upon arrival it was determined that the alarm went off due to items that had been placed on the cooking range, in what appeared to be an intentional manner. Bemidji Police were also contacted.


Drugs, Arrest
Public Safety responded to Pine Hall for report of possible marijuana use. An individual was located that admitted to smoking marijuana. Bemidji Police responded and a citation was issued for possession of marijuana.


Property, Lost
A wallet was reported lost.


Larceny, Theft
A container of “whey protein” was reported stolen from Tamarack Hall. An individual was later witnessed with the container. University conduct charges were forwarded for theft.

Alarm, Fire, False
Public Safety and Bemidji Fire responded to a fire alarm in the PE building. The cause of the alarm was determined to be a malfunction.

Maintenance was notified of icy sidewalks on campus.

Maintenance was notified of a faulty door in Tamarack Hall.

Maintenance was notified of a faulty smoke detector in Pine Hall.
