Friday morning on the front steps of Memorial Hall, BSU/NTC President Dr. Richard Hanson cut the ribbon in the grand re-opening ceremony of Memorial Hall. Dean of the School of Business, Technology and Communication Dr. Shawn Strong was the MC for the event, which included student speakers.

About 130 BSU faculty, students, alumni, and the community looked towards the future of not only Memorial Hall, but of Bemidji State University. Marketing Communications major Lisa Kittleson,, spoke about what the newly $14 million remodeled building means to her, and what improvements she has seen this year in comparison to Decker Hall.
Business major, Marie Schwinghammer, talked about how lucky she is to be in the new building, and how beneficial it has already been to her and other students as well. “I am very fortunate to benefit from it,” she said, describing the new technology offered in Memorial Hall.
After the ribbon cutting, students held tours for the people who came out to see the new building. Later in the morning, Alumni speakers in the classroom talked about being a professional in the fields of accounting, marketing, and business and shared their experiences with students who are currently studying business or marketing communication at BSU.

Tonight there will be an Alumni and Foundation Honors Gala at the Sanford Center at 5:30 pm to honor outstanding BSU alumni.
