Have you ever wanted to be published in a widely popular book or be seen on TV? Well here is your chance, students of BSU!
Chicken Soup for the Soul is promoting a contest that is open to any student currently enrolled in the 2015-2016 academic school year. They are looking for stories that talk about “tolerance, respect, compassion, embracing difference, making good choices, and rejecting stereotypes.”
In other words, they are looking for a story or video that takes a stand against bullying for being ‘different.’ These stories must be true and not written like an academic essay.
Stories that are published in the upcoming Chicken Soup for the Soul: What’s Your Story? will receive $200 and 10 copies of the book. Videos that are shown on Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Hidden Heroes TV Special will receive $1,000. It is also possible to get a grant for your school as a prize.
If you are interested in writing a story, it is recommended to be between 800 and 1,200 words long, while the video must be between one to four minutes long.
Get your stories in, Beavers, by January 15th, 2016 for a chance for your story or video to be selected!
