Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and most of us are stressing because let’s face it, the majority of us are financially frustrated. The reality is, we don’t have the funds to go all out and buy lavish Valentine’s Day gifts for our loved ones, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make some cute valentines ourselves for our friends and loved ones and still make it a great day! Here are some of my favorite cheap, and relatively easy DIY valentine ideas:
Materials needed: Tacklebox, Paper, Pens/Pencils, Candy, Tape
Using an old or new tackle box you can create the perfect gift for anyone this Valentine’s Day. Simply clean out the tackle box and fill it with fun candy. I used gummy worms (to imitate bait), Swedish fish, and some M&M’s. This is a great idea for college students because you can buy the candy with BeaverBucks and the tackle box is only $2-5 at Wal-Mart.
Materials Needed: Ziploc Bag, Candy, Paper, Pens/Pencils, Stapler
Another great gift idea for any study buddy or friend at school is to simply use Goldfish or Swedish Fish (I used Swedish Fish) and a Ziploc bag to give the gift of yummy sweets. By using colorful construction paper I created a cute Valentine-themed bag with Swedish fish and stapled it to the closed Ziploc bag. This is perfect for a last minute, easy and cheap Valentine’s Day gift.
Materials Needed: Tin Foil, Construction Paper, White Paper, Pens/Pencils, Glue Gun or Glue Stick
This next idea is for a Valentine’s Day card. This idea is costless and super cute. Using tin foil to shape into a Hershey Kiss, you can use white paper to attach a cute message or name to the bottom or top of the paper, customizing it for your special someone.
With the above ideas at your fingertips, it’s proven that Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to break the bank so be sure to send some love this month and have some fun!
